On September 9, 2015, Chipotle will offer a three-hour window for registered applicants to interview with management for an entry-level position with the company. Applicants will be interviewed on a first-come-first-serve basis, for positions that earn an average hourly pay of $10 an hour, and receive a 401(K). The company’s hope is to hire 4,000 new employees, to help staff their current 1,900 stores, in addition to the rough 200 stores that will be opening in 2015.

Recently the fast food industry has faced much difficulty with the shrinking pool of applicants. This is attributable to the increase strength of the economy causing workers to look for jobs that offer more benefits and a higher compensation. To try and change applicant’s image of Chipotle, they began offering all staff access to paid vacation and tuition reimbursements last July. The company has also been promoting the ease of which many Chipotle workers can go from entry-level to general manager. Unlike some other fast-food restaurants, Chipotle wants its employees to stick with the company and move to higher positions. Monty Moran, co-chief executive officer at Chipotle, explained, “Working here isn’t just a job, but a career where employees learn how to make others better, run a successful business, master culinary skills, and most importantly, lead teams of top performers.”

The plan is for Chipotle’s nearly 1,900 stores to open simultaneously at 8 a.m., three hours early, to start interviews, so don’t be late!
