Chance Prescott joined Goodwin Recruiting with a career built on one consistent thread: reading people and solving problems under pressure. He specializes in accounting & finance recruiting, partnering with firms and growing organizations throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond to identify high-impact talent.
Chance’s path started in retail leadership as Store Manager and Head of HR at Nautica, where he learned to evaluate talent, manage performance, and lead teams in a fast-paced environment. When Covid hit, that same skill set — assessing people quickly and training them to perform under real pressure — led him into public health, where he worked as a regional trainer developing contact tracers nationwide. From there, the transition into recruiting was a natural one: he moved into accounting, finance, and manufacturing/engineering placements before joining forces with Goodwin Recruiting.
Every stop sharpened the same core ability — identifying the right person for a high-stakes role, fast. Chance doesn’t just match resumes to job descriptions; he reads for fit, drive, and staying power. Chance is direct, relentless, and doesn’t let go of a search until it’s done. Beyond recruiting, Chance is an assistant coach for Newburgh Little League baseball and basketball, bringing the same hands-on, no-nonsense approach to coaching kids in his community.
