A growing organization in the construction materials sector is seeking a Director of Finance to lead its financial operations and provide support in key human resources functions. This high-impact role combines financial leadership with oversight of payroll and employee onboarding, making it ideal for a candidate who is both strategic and hands-on.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Accounting

  • Lead all aspects of accounting and financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and cash management.
  • Develop and oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting to support leadership decision-making.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to drive profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other financial requirements.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and other financial partners.
  • Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets.

Payroll & HR Support

  • Oversee payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Manage employee onboarding, including documentation, benefits enrollment, and orientation.
  • Address routine HR inquiries and ensure compliance with employment regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee files and records.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as a key partner to executive leadership in shaping financial strategy.
  • Mentor and support accounting and administrative staff.
  • Collaborate with operations, sales, and supply chain teams to align financial and business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with proven leadership responsibilities.
  • Background in construction, building materials, or manufacturing industries strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with financial systems, reporting tools, and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and basic HR practices.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
