Chief Investment Officer – Special Situations Private Equity
About the Opportunity
Our client is launching a groundbreaking investment platform designed to reallocate capital around the most asymmetric asset of our time: Bitcoin. This is not a traditional fund. The model is lean, built to compound, and focused on outsized impact. The firm is seeking a senior leader to set strategy and drive execution across a global platform. This role is for someone who thrives on speed, precision, and transformational outcomes—not bureaucracy.
The Role
As Chief Investment Officer (CIO), you will shape and lead the investment strategy across special situations, distressed assets, takeovers, and asset-backed transactions. Working directly with the founder and board, you will take ownership of the investment pipeline, set portfolio direction, and ensure disciplined execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and oversee firm-wide investment strategy in special situations and related opportunities
- Lead origination, structuring, and execution of transformative transactions
- Manage and mentor deal teams across geographies
- Ensure disciplined risk management, capital allocation, and portfolio growth
- Represent the firm with investors, stakeholders, and partners
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 10+ years in private equity, special situations, investment banking, or principal investing
- Track record of sourcing and closing high-impact deals at scale
- Strategic and operational leadership experience in a global, fast-moving environment
- Deep expertise in structuring, risk management, and capital formation
- Entrepreneurial, decisive, and motivated by building something disruptive
Compensation
- Base salary: $300K+ bonus and incentives
