We are seeking a talented Lateral Attorney to join their dynamic team and make a significant impact.
Position Overview:
We are recruiting for a skilled attorney with 5+ years of experience to handle complex construction litigation cases. You will leverage your expertise in depositions, discovery, and case strategy to achieve exceptional outcomes for clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile matters, engage directly with clients, and advance your career in a supportive, forward-thinking firm—whether you prefer the charm of St. Simons Island or the energy of Atlanta.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse caseload of construction litigation matters, including contract disputes, construction defects, and payment claims.
- Lead depositions, oversee discovery processes (drafting and responding to requests), and prepare compelling motions and pleadings.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop strategic case plans aligned with client objectives.
- Represent clients in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and potentially trials.
- Conduct thorough legal research and provide insightful counsel on construction law, including liens, warranties, and regulatory compliance.
- Foster strong client relationships through clear, proactive communication.
- Mentor junior team members, contributing to a collaborative and inclusive culture.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and an active Georgia Bar license in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with a strong focus on construction litigation.
- Proven expertise in taking and defending depositions, managing discovery, and drafting legal documents.
- In-depth knowledge of construction law and industry-specific regulations.
- Exceptional analytical, research, and writing skills.
- Ability to manage complex cases and thrive in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
- Outstanding communication skills with a client-first approach.
- Deposition and trial experience is a plus but not required.
- Comfort working independently or collaboratively, with flexibility for hybrid or in-office arrangements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience representing construction professionals, such as architects, engineers, or contractors.
- Familiarity with Georgia-specific construction laws and regulations.
- A portable book of business is a bonus but not required.
