We are a premier upscale dining destination in Chicago, celebrated for our fusion of Japanese cuisine, premium steaks, and an extensive wine and sake program. We seek a dynamic Assistant General Manager/Sommelier to lead front-of-house operations and curate an exceptional beverage program, enhancing our reputation for culinary excellence and hospitality.

Assistant General Manager/Sommelier Qualifications:

 

·       5+ years in fine dining management, 2+ years as a sommelier. 

·       Certified Sommelier (Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET Level I, or equivalent). 

·       Extensive wine and sake knowledge, especially Japanese varietals. 

·       Proven leadership in high-volume, upscale restaurant settings. 

·       Strong guest service and financial management skills. 

·       Proficiency in restaurant software (e.g., Toast, Resy).

 

Assistant General Manager/Sommelier Responsibilities:

 

·       Oversee front-of-house operations for seamless service

·       Lead and train staff to uphold high hospitality standards

·       Manage scheduling, payroll, and cost control

·       Sommelier: Curate and manage wine/sake program to complement the menu. 

·       Train staff on pairings and engage guests with recommendations. 

  • ·       Host wine/sake events and manage inventory efficiently.
