Our client, a dynamic and fast-paced food manufacturer, is seeking a seasoned Director of Procurement to lead their sourcing and supply chain strategy. This role is ideal for a procurement leader who thrives in a high-impact environment and can drive efficiency, value, and innovation across the supplier network. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Food Science, or related field
- 10+ years of procurement experience, including 5+ years in food manufacturing leadership
- Proven record of delivering measurable cost savings and process improvements
- Deep knowledge of FDA, USDA, FSMA, and food industry vendor compliance
- Strong negotiation and contract management expertise
- ERP systems proficiency (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or advanced degree in a related field
- Experience with global supply chains
- Certification (CPSM, CIPS, APICS)
- Knowledge of ESG/sustainable sourcing practices
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute long-term procurement strategies aligned with company growth
- Manage sourcing of ingredients, packaging, and indirect materials
- Lead supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing and long-term partnerships
- Monitor market trends and proactively manage supply risk
- Establish procurement KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Operations, and Finance
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sustainability goals
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team
