Our fun and trendy boutique hotel is seeking a Director of Finance. This hands-on role oversees all financial operations, provides strategic insights to leadership, and ensures accuracy, compliance, and profitability. The ideal candidate brings both analytical skill and business acumen and is confident in presenting financials to ownership, asset managers, and shareholders.
Director of Finance Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting functions and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis
- Manage payroll, purchasing, expenses, and internal controls
- Advise ownership and department heads on financial performance
- Present financial updates and recommendations to ownership and external stakeholders
- Coordinate audits, insurance, and legal compliance as needed
Director of Finance Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5+ years of hotel finance leadership experience
- Familiarity with hospitality accounting standards and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with Opera
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills; confident presenting to ownership and stakeholders
- Comfortable working independently in a lean structure
