We are seeking a Banquet Sous Chef to join the culinary leadership team at a luxury hotel property known for its exceptional service and elevated banquet experiences. This is a high-impact role ideal for a creative, collaborative, and technically skilled chef who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-event environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee all aspects of banquet culinary production, including Garde Manger, Savory, and Pastry, as well as food production for an on-site café.
  • Manage events ranging from multiple small gatherings to large parties of up to 250 guests, across 20,000 sq ft of meeting space and 17 event rooms including an atrium.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create seasonal, creative, and functional banquet menus that align with budgeted labor and can be executed efficiently by the team.
  • Develop and manage prep lists, production sheets, and scheduling for a smooth event flow.
  • Participate in key meetings (e.g., BEO, weekly resume, daily stand-up) and communicate effectively with sales, catering, and banquet departments.
  • Lead by example with a positive, team-first attitude — no egos or “not my job” mentalities here.

Who You Are:

  • An experienced banquet chef with at least 2 years of leadership in high-volume banquet production ($4M+ revenue annually).
  • A professional with strong tenure — ideally no more than 3-4 jobs over the past 10 years.
  • Comes from a luxury hotel background (restaurant- or country club-only experience does not meet the criteria).
  • Skilled across Garde Manger, Savory, and Pastry disciplines.
  • Personable and collaborative — able to work cross-functionally with all hotel departments and interact comfortably with guests.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Food Safety and Allergy Awareness Certified (or equivalent).

This is an incredible opportunity to bring your leadership and culinary creativity to an outstanding team. Preference is given to local candidates, but relocation assistance is available depending on proximity.

Apply now and help lead a kitchen that values excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
