Cafe General Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of management experience in hospitality, restaurant, or retail.
  • Proven success in hiring, developing, and leading a team.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and sales analysis.
  • Hands-on, guest-first leadership approach.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety, inventory systems, and POS operations.

Cafe General Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing team with strong hospitality standards.
  • Conduct regular coaching and performance evaluations.
  • Manage scheduling and labor to meet business needs and budget targets.
  • Oversee the cleanliness, organization, and functionality of the entire store.
  • Uphold high standards for food, beverage, and service quality.
  • Analyze sales trends to develop strategies for revenue growth.
