A leading national infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Traveling Safety Manager to support transportation projects throughout the DMV area. This position plays a critical role in promoting a world-class safety culture, ensuring full compliance with OSHA and company safety standards, and driving the organization’s goal of an Incident and Injury-Free workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with field and project management teams to implement and reinforce safety programs, policies, and initiatives.
  • Conduct site visits, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Lead safety meetings, training sessions, and incident investigations; assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Review subcontractor safety programs and verify adherence to project safety requirements.
  • Support project start-ups and kick-off meetings by developing and communicating site-specific safety expectations.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably within heavy civil or transportation projects.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, or CUSP strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence all levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the DMV region as required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Annual base salary: Up to $135k (commensurate with experience)
