Our retained client is a privately held investment and hospitality group with a portfolio spanning real estate, development, and luxury dining.

They’re seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead all financial operations across both their investment management business and their flagship restaurant brand in Midtown Manhattan.

This is a hands-on leadership role—ideal for a CPA who can move easily between fund-level reporting, P&L management for hospitality operations, and strategic planning for growth. If you’re looking to join a company that’s well-capitalized yet entrepreneurial, this offers the best of both worlds.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and oversee all financial operations of the group — accounting, treasury, tax, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team
  • Liaise with auditors and tax advisors to maintain regulatory compliance
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies
  • Review consolidated financial results and prepare management reports for the parent organization
  • Partner with department heads to analyze performance and identify cost-savings opportunities
  • Oversee budgeting for restaurant operations including labor, COGS, and capital expenditures
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and IFRS standards; monitor accounting and regulatory changes
  • Support ESG reporting and corporate governance initiatives

Finance Director Requirements & Qualifications

  • CPA required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive financial leadership experience within multi-entity organizations
  • Knowledge of GAAP / IFRS and regulatory compliance
  • Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant finance (required) — understanding of restaurant P&L and operational cost drivers
  • Background in real estate investment, property management, or asset management is a strong plus
  • Skilled in financial planning, forecasting, cash management, and systems implementation
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; comfortable presenting to executives and investors

Must-Haves

  • Previous experience in hospitality / restaurant operations
  • Proven track record of streamlining processes and improving reporting accuracy
  • Experience with restaurant POS and inventory systems integration a plus

Finance Director Preferred Background & Skills

  • Previous experience in real estate or property management finance
  • Exposure to private equity or investment fund structures
  • Knowledge of multi-entity and international consolidations
  • Strong systems knowledge (QuickBooks Enterprise, NetSuite, or similar ERP)

This is a key leadership role for a finance professional who wants to shape the financial framework of a growing, multi-industry organization.

If you’re strategic yet hands-on and love seeing your work translate into real business impact — we want to meet you.
