Assistant General Manager Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of progressive restaurant management experience
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and steady leadership under pressure
  • Flexible leadership style with proven success managing diverse teams
  • ServSafe certified (and other required food safety certifications)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with technology, including POS systems and restaurant software
  • Able to handle kitchen tools safely and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs

Assistant General Manager Preferred Skills:

  • Set clear expectations with the team and plan for contingencies such as staffing shortages or equipment issues
  • Ensure all food items meet quality standards; monitor guest feedback and resolve concerns promptly
  • Place accurate orders, check product quality, and manage inventory effectively
  • Run payroll accurately and follow all payroll protocols
  • Create labor-efficient schedules and post in a timely manner to support team planning
  • Lead by example, modeling company values and leadership behaviors
  • Oversee onboarding and training, ensuring new hires meet role expectations
  • Drive staffing efforts, make strong hiring decisions, and provide consistent coaching and progressive discipline as needed
