Director of Finance

Full-Time | Hybrid | Atlanta, Georgia

We are a fast-growing, multi-channel retail and ecommerce organization in the collectibles and lifestyle space. With both physical retail locations and a thriving online ordering platform, our brand is built around delivering fun, engaging experiences to passionate customers.

As we expand across retail, digital, and live-event channels, we are seeking a Director of Finance to lead financial operations and serve as a strategic partner to leadership.

The Role

The Director of Finance will be responsible for both accurate day-to-day financial management and forward-looking strategic planning. This role bridges strong accounting controls with data-driven insights that will guide the company’s continued growth across physical stores, ecommerce platforms, online subscription products, and live customer engagement experiences.

Director of Finance Responsibilities:

Accounting & Controls

• Lead bookkeeping staff and oversee timely, accurate reporting
• Manage monthly close, reconciliations, and financial statements
• Oversee inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, sales tax, and complex multi-channel revenue streams
• Implement and strengthen internal controls and approval workflows
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax requirements, and audit standards

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Build and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models
• Analyze business performance across retail, ecommerce, events, and digital platforms
• Develop dashboards and KPIs to provide visibility to leadership
• Conduct ROI and profitability analyses for promotions, marketing spend, and new initiatives
• Provide scenario modeling (“what if” analyses) to support expansion and new revenue opportunities

Strategic Leadership

• Partner with executives on financial strategy and resource allocation
• Translate financial insights into actionable recommendations for non-finance leaders
• Improve systems and processes to support scalable growth
• Prepare board- and investor-ready financial reporting and presentations

Must Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA a plus)
• 8+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, ideally blending controllership and FP&A
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial modeling, and analysis
• Experience in retail, ecommerce, or other inventory-intensive businesses strongly preferred
• Demonstrated success improving financial processes and scaling systems in high-growth environments
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence across departments

Director of Finance- Nice to Have Qualifications:

• Passion for collectibles, pop culture, or fan-driven markets
• Experience with equity investment or fundraising environments

Director of Finance Benefits and Compensation:

• $120,000–$150,000 annually (based on experience)
