We’re looking for an experienced Director of Training to help lead the next chapter of growth for a rapidly expanding, founder-led hospitality group with a diverse portfolio of distinctive restaurant brands, boutique hotels, and experiential concepts.
This role will own the strategy, design, and execution of a scalable, multi-unit training program that supports multiple new store openings per year across diverse markets. Director of Training Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a comprehensive training strategy to support aggressive multi-unit expansion
- Build, lead, and mentor a scalable field training team for pre-opening and ongoing training across all brands
- Develop deployment plans for new restaurant openings (NROs), including bootcamps, on-site field training, and post-opening support
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, HR, and Creative teams to align training with SOPs, company values, and guest experience expectations
- Oversee the creation of standardized, brand-aligned content (digital modules, video training, printed guides, and on-the-job coaching tools)
- Implement and manage learning management systems (LMS) to deliver scalable, trackable training programs
- Establish training KPIs and reporting frameworks to monitor effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
- Foster a company-wide culture of learning, development, and operational excellence across all roles and levels
- Coordinating comprehensive training plans and annual calendars covering eLearning, new product rollouts, management bootcamps, and onboarding cohorts
- Certifying training restaurants and leading the process for NRO readiness
- Leading training bootcamps on Operations, HR, P&L Management, Local Marketing, etc.
- Supporting the onboarding process for all new hires, including MIT programs
- Validating training execution across Field Trainers, Coaches, Managers, and Team Members
- Analyzing training reports and coaching GMs and Field Trainers on tool usage
Director of Training Qualifications:
- 7+ years in training and development, with at least 3 years in a multi-unit or multi-brand environment
- Experience supporting rapid growth or new unit development in restaurants or hospitality
- Strong track record building and managing field-based training teams
- Proven ability to design training systems that scale across geographies and cultures
- Proficiency with LMS platforms (Wisetail a plus), e-learning tools, and digital content development
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with experience partnering across Operations, HR, and Marketing
- Comfortable in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments with evolving needs
- Passion for hospitality, people development, and driving high-performance cultures
- Background in restaurants, food & beverage, or hospitality preferred; experience with brands known for operational rigor and training discipline is a strong plus
