We’re seeking an experienced Controller to join our team in a hybrid role, working 1–2 days per week in our Columbia, MD office and remotely the rest of the time. This position supports the CFO with financial reporting, treasury functions, and team supervision to ensure accurate representation of the company’s financial health.

Controller Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, expense reports, and month-end close
- Record daily cash activity and post journal entries
- Handle billing setup and transaction tracking
- Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts
- Analyze and report on revenue and bookings
- Maintain product codes to ensure system accuracy
- Coordinate insurance compliance and loan payments
- Manage daily cash reporting and dashboards
- Prepare journal entries and month-end reports
- Support system integrity and process improvement
- Collaborate with IT and Operations on compliance and security
- Supervise accounting team
- Assist CFO with audits, tax prep, and financial closes
- Contribute to implementation of systems like QuickBooks, Concur, and CRM tools
- Perform other duties as needed
Controller Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Business, or related field (MBA a plus)
- 7+ years in accounting with reporting and forecasting experience
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle confidential information
- Able to work independently and solve problems proactively
