Exciting Accounting Manager opportunity to join a fast-growing CPA firm in Birmingham. This is a unique opportunity to lead and build a new bookkeeping service line while owning the day-to-day financial operations across several companies.
You’ll play a hands-on role in transitioning the firm from manual systems to modern cloud-based platforms (ProConnect, TaxDome, and more). If you enjoy leading financial strategy, improving operations, and being part of a people-first culture, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead bookkeeping and financial reporting for multiple entities
- Manage reconciliations, AP/AR, and month-end close
- Implement and optimize accounting systems (QuickBooks, TaxDome, ProConnect, etc.)
- Build out a new client-facing bookkeeping division
- Collaborate closely with the managing partner on strategy and growth
- Contribute to long-term planning, reporting, and profitability initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and accounting software
- Ability to lead and improve financial processes and systems
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, collaborative attitude
- CPA preferred but not required
