Category Manager – Tobacco Retail
Location: Upland,CA – relocation provided
Salary: $120,000 – $135,000/year
Job Type: Full-time and Onsite
Travel: Up to 25%
Your Role:
Lead the tobacco category strategy for a prominent retail organization. Optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotions to drive revenue and margin growth. Build strong supplier relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute category plans effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement data-driven category strategies.
- Manage pricing, assortment, and promotional activities.
- Oversee item setup and ensure accurate execution in the company's Pricebook.
- Analyze internal and external data for actionable insights.
- Negotiate costs, contracts, and trade spend.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Marketing, and Operations teams.
- Monitor competitor pricing and market trends.
- Lead product development initiatives and manage team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- 3+ years of category management experience in retail.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing supplier relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite; SQL knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
