Are you a dynamic and strategic financial leader with a passion for hospitality? Join our executive team at our premier luxury resort and spa, where your expertise will shape our financial success and guest experience. We are seeking a Director of Finance in Santa Rosa to oversee all financial activities, ensure regulatory compliance, and serve as a trusted advisor to hotel management and ownership.

 

 

Director of Finance Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the resort’s financial operations and safeguard assets following GAAP.
  • Provide financial analysis and guidance to department heads to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Lead monthly financial reporting, including bank and credit card reconciliations, balance sheet approvals, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, licensing, and insurance requirements.
  • Supervise and develop finance department staff, ensuring high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and monitor all purchasing, sales, salaries, and expenses.
  • Oversee internal controls, audits, and risk management protocols.

Director of Finance Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years in hospitality finance or accounting, with experience managing teams.
  • Proficiency in GAAP, hotel accounting systems, and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry.
  • Advanced Excel skills required; experience with hotel systems (e.g., Micros, Opera, Symphony, ProfitSage, Inventa, Canary Digital Tipping) preferred.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • High degree of integrity and professionalism.
  • Strong soft skills and the ability to explain financials to all department heads
  • Ability to develop and train staff
