Food Safety Manager
Our client is a well-established, family-owned food manufacturing organization seeking a dedicated Food Safety Manager to join their growing team. This pivotal role will be responsible for implementing and maintaining rigorous food safety and quality assurance programs, ensuring the operation is always third-party and customer audit ready. As the company expands, this position will serve as a critical support to the Food Safety & QA Director and offers clear potential for future leadership growth.
Food Safety Manager Salary & Benefits
- Competitive base salary (target range: $50,000 – $65,000, depending on experience)

Food Safety Manager Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; relevant associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in food safety, quality assurance, or related roles within a food manufacturing environment
- Current HACCP and PCQI certifications required
- Strong working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, BRC, AIB standards, FDA labeling regulations, allergens, sanitation protocols, and food quality systems
- Experience participating in third-party and regulatory audits, with ability to lead corrective action initiatives
- Familiarity with quality assurance testing processes, including tracking lot numbers and basic laboratory testing such as aW (water activity) and pH
- Prior exposure to root cause analysis, 5-Whys, and 8-D problem solving methodologies preferred
- Comfortable working in a mixed office and production floor setting; not a strictly administrative position
Food Safety Manager Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain company food safety, sanitation, and quality assurance programs to meet or exceed regulatory and customer requirements
- Monitor facility readiness for third-party and customer audits at all times
- Conduct internal audits, track corrective actions, and lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner with the Food Safety & QA Director to support department objectives and act as backup leadership when needed
- Oversee documentation, lot tracking, and ensure adherence to company and regulatory food safety protocols
- Support training initiatives for staff in food safety, sanitation, and quality assurance procedures
- Assist in conducting root cause analyses and generating effective corrective action plans following audits or quality incidents
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams on food safety and quality matters
