As the Lead Machinist, you will work in a prototype, development, and production support machine shop responsible for making one-off, precision details. Primarily will be responsible for programming, operating, and troubleshooting multi-axis NC and manual milling and turning equipment. This includes developing work holding methodology, selecting tooling and the appropriate machine for the job, and creating setup sheets for the machinists. 

Lead CNC Machinist Responsibilities

  • Read and understand prints, drawings, sketches, specifications
  • Working knowledge of processes and needed parameters for efficient machining of materials including proper speeds, feeds, depth, and angle of cuts
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
  • Prepare and operate machines to perform tasks such as milling, turning, drilling, tapping, deburring, and sawing, etc
  • Experience setting up and/or running CNC Haas vertical Mills or Lathe
  • Organized and safe work habits
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure the functionality
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
