Part-Time Controller

A leading Modern Orthodox Jewish Day School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Controller to join our accounting team in a flexible part-time position. This position is a hybrid role and has a tremendous amount of flexibility in the work schedule. This is an exciting opportunity to join a great team with an amazing culture.

What You'll Do

● Oversee monthly reconciliation of financial statements. Present and distribute statements to the administrators, managers, and the board of directors. 

● Coordinate with accounting consultants and other members of accounting to properly pay and code all receipts, invoices, and accounts receivable.

● Update all costs weekly/monthly, create reports for directors and administrators, and conduct periodic audits.

● Participate in monthly financial meetings, budget planning, and oversee third-party accounting services.

● Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school's educational community.

What We're Looking For

● Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred

● Five or more years of experience in multiple aspects of accounting. Competency in reconciling monthly accounts and creating monthly statements.

● Commitment to fostering a love of learning and building positive relationships with students.

● Strong management, organizational, and communication skills. Needs to be technology proficient.

● Familiarity with Jewish values, traditions, and culture is a plus but not required.
