Director of Fundraising & Development

Are you a dynamic and strategic Director of Development who loves leading and managing fundraising efforts. The Director will oversee all aspects of fundraising, including major gifts, grants, annual giving, corporate sponsorships, planned giving, and special events. This role will work closely with the CEO and Chief Partnership Officer to build and nurture strong relationships with donors, community partners, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.

Director of Fundraising & Development Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary up to $130K, based on experience.

Director of Fundraising & Development Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit leadership, with at least 3 years of experience managing a development office.
  • Proven track record of raising at least $1 million in gifts, grants, and/or corporate sponsorships.
  • Experience in budget development with an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong understanding of donor cultivation, stewardship, and ethics.
  • Intermediate proficiency in fundraising CRMs, with preference for Raiser’s Edge.
  • Experience using survey software such as Survey Monkey, Google Forms, or similar tools (preferred).
  • Passion for advancing the mission and impact of the organization.
  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) or Certified Specialist in Planned Giving (CSPG) is a plus

 

Director of Fundraising & Development Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to achieve long-term success.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for donor cultivation and solicitation, ensuring strong, positive relationships with donors and community partners.
  • Coordinate the timely creation and submission of proposals and reports to stakeholders.
  • Prepare fundraising materials, donor appeals, reports, newsletters, and presentations, including social media campaigns.
  • Work collaboratively with the Chief Partnership Officer to align annual fundraising strategies and growth goals.
  • Stay current with philanthropic trends and best practices to capitalize on new fundraising opportunities.
  • Utilize metrics to identify and engage new donors, set fundraising targets, and manage donor reporting.
