Restaurant Maître D’ – Job Overview

We're looking for a polished and personable Maître D’ to be the welcoming face of our estate dining experience. You’ll lead front-of-house hospitality across our restaurant, lounge, and event spaces, ensuring every guest enjoys exceptional, warm, and thoughtful service. This role is all about presence, personalization, and leading by example in a luxury setting.

Restaurant Maître D’ Responsibilities

Elevated Guest Experience

  • Greet and seat guests with warmth, efficiency, and elegance.
  • Serve as the go-to contact for VIPs and returning guests, ensuring they feel seen and valued.
  • Monitor pacing and table turns to enhance flow and maximize guest satisfaction.
  • Strategically manage seating with guest privacy and preferences in mind.

Dining Room Leadership

  • Oversee service across dining room, veranda, lounge, bar, and library.
  • Stay visible and present during all service periods, especially dinner.
  • Run daily pre-shift meetings with FOH and kitchen teams to align on reservations, allergies, and expectations.
  • Ensure all service meets Forbes-level standards of polish and professionalism.

Team Coordination & Training

  • Support and mentor FOH staff in delivering refined and relational service.
  • Act as the link between service staff, kitchen leaders, and guest services.
  • Meet regularly with the Executive Chef, Guest Services, and F&B Director to stay aligned.

Event & Private Dining Oversight

  • Lead service for weddings, buyouts, and special events including rehearsal dinners and estate receptions.
  • Collaborate with the Events Manager and Banquet Chef on layout, timing, and staffing.
  • Ensure smooth execution of all F&B aspects during private functions.

Professional Presence

  • Represent the tone and mission of the estate with impeccable presentation and hospitality.
  • Be consistently present and accessible throughout service.
  • Embody and promote a spirit of warmth, grace, and generosity.
