Some Responsibilities for our Special Education Teacher:

  • Guide and empower staff in understanding and fulfilling special education policies, while coordinating essential services such as caseloads, schedules, transportation, and state assessments.
  • Serve as the Local Education Agency (LEA) Representative on all IEP Teams, ensuring that every student’s voice and needs are fully represented and met.
  • Steward the continuous improvement of IEP policies, maintain vital student records, track transitions, and uphold full compliance with all DPI requirements and timelines.
  • Provide the tools, training, and encouragement that enable faculty and staff to deliver IEPs with fidelity and heart, in full alignment with IDEA principles.

Qualifications for our Special Education Teacher:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred) with valid Special Education Certification.
  • Deep knowledge and real-world experience in creating and implementing IEPs that honor each student’s unique potential.
  • A background in Science and Math is strongly preferred to enhance instructional versatility.
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License and meet insurance eligibility standards.
  • Must pass all background screenings for a Community Care Licensed facility, including physical, TB, and drug testing.
