He brings a wealth of industry insight to the job, having managed front of house operations for 22 years, in a variety of settings, from palatial dining rooms to airports. He has managed successful teams in both upscale casual and fine-dining environments. As a manager, the apex of goals was a perfectly-set restaurant, and the best part of his day was the pre-shift meeting, where the energy was high.
With his sights on becoming a chef, he earned his Culinary Arts degree at The Culinary Institute of America in New York. After having attended classes at the school’s working restaurants, during which he had a chance to interact with guests in the dining room, he was inspired to stay on and earn his bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts Management.
As a recruiter specializing in the Hospitality industry, he is driven by the success of his own career to help bright and promising individuals get the jobs they deserve. But perhaps his biggest motivator is that he is proud to have been hired twice himself with the help of recruiters. These jobs turned out to be his most rewarding – one turning a sleepy hotel restaurant into a wildly popular steakhouse, and one earning two Michelin stars. As such, he takes great pride in finding winning job matches for everyone he works with.
