Confidential Family Seeks Private Educator

A confidential private family is seeking a dedicated Private Educator to provide educational and developmental support to a 4-year-old child in a dynamic household setting. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, values humility, and can seamlessly adapt to both home and travel routines.

Private Educator Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (advanced degree preferred) and direct experience applying said degree(s)
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Governess, Private Educator, or high-level Nanny with young children
  • Knowledge of Montessori and/or International Baccalaureate curriculum
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with principals/guardians on learning objectives
  • Warm, grounded presence with demonstrated humility, adaptability, and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to travel up to 40–45% of the year, both domestically and internationally
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid driver’s license and passport

Private Educator Must Haves

  • Collaborate with the female principal to design and adjust curriculum tailored to the child’s development
  • Provide daily enrichment activities that foster intellectual, social, and emotional growth
  • Establish and reinforce consistent, respectful discipline and boundaries
  • Ensure seamless continuity of routines and education during travel, demonstrating flexibility in dynamic settings
  • Work collaboratively with parents and household staff to align on routines and expectations
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality and discretion in all aspects of the role

Private Educator Preferred Background & Skills

  • Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Psychology, or related field
  • Multilingual ability (French, Spanish, or Mandarin highly desirable)
  • Experience supporting international travel and cross-cultural exposure for children
  • Background in enrichment areas such as music, art, or sports coaching
  • Prior experience in private households or UHNW family settings
  • Confidence with household technology and organizational systems
