Our client is a well-established grinding shop in Burbank, CA seeking a detail-oriented Grinding Machine Operator to join their outstanding team. In this role, you’ll set up, operate, and maintain both manual and CNC grinding machines, read blueprints and travelers, hold tight tolerances, and perform in-process inspections to ensure production runs safely, accurately, and on schedule. What You’ll Do

  • Set up and operate CNC and manual grinding machines to blueprint and traveler specs.
  • Read/interpret engineering drawings, shop orders, and route sheets to determine setup, tooling, and sequence of operations.
  • Follow travelers to achieve required dimensions, finishes, and tolerances.
  • Position tooling/workpieces, adjust controls, and verify dimensions using fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Document and perform in-process inspections for quality assurance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; perform basic preventive maintenance.
  • Represent the company with professionalism and assist with other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment operating CNC and/or manual grinders (or) a strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T symbols.
  • Comfort with basic math (fractions/decimals) and standard measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, collets).
  • Basic understanding of electronics/programmable controllers or eagerness to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety focus, and teamwork.

Physical Requirements

  • Regular standing/walking; frequent use of hands to handle tools/controls; reaching with arms.
  • Frequent talking/hearing; ability to push 5–40 lb boxes on a trolley/cart; occasional lifting.
  • Visual acuity for close/distance/color/peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Safety glasses required while in the facility.
