General Manager Requirements and Qualifications
- Hands-on experience managing daily operations in a fast-paced sandwich shop or fast‑casual environment—especially small-format, take‑out or walk‑up models.
- Demonstrated proficiency with profit & loss statements, budgeting, inventory controls, scheduling, and cost‑management.
- Ability to develop and coach a lean team—from hiring and onboarding to performance feedback and training front- and back-of-house staff.
- Strong guest-oriented mindset: manage customer expectations, ensure consistency in service and quality, and maintain excellent guest experience standards.
General Manager Preferred Background and Skills
- Experience launching or leading operational systems for a startup or early-stage dining concept—able to build standards and scale operations effectively.
- Knowledge of scratch-baked bread and simple-menu fast‑casual execution
- Certification in food safety under NYC regulations.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and strategic thinking skills—resourceful, adaptable under pressure, and capable of setting long‑term operational foundations.
