Kitchen Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of kitchen management experience in a full-service, high-volume, bar-centric restaurant
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and scratch kitchen operations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and financials
  • Hands-on, servant leader mindset with a passion for hospitality
  • Flexibility, patience, and a willingness to learn encouraged
  • No ego—positive, team-first mentality

Kitchen Manager Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience in scratch kitchens is highly valued
  • Prior success motivating and coaching teams through busy service periods

Kitchen Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Coach, motivate, and develop kitchen staff to deliver excellent food and service
  • Foster a hospitality-focused, “get it done” culture in the kitchen
  • Maintain top-notch food safety and sanitation standards at all times
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory, prep, and service execution
  • Manage budgets and control kitchen costs with attention to financial goals
