A Chef Assistant is needed for a private family / estate in the Detroit / Birmingham area. This position is mainly a Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm position (with some changes as events arise).

Chef Assistant Benefits:

·        Full-time hourly rate plus overtime eligible. Base rate of $28 to $30 per hour.

Chef Assistant Responsibility:

·        Assist Executive Chef with meal planning, grocery shopping and preparations/cook of all meals while maintaining high standards of taste and presentation.

·        Source and order high-quality ingredients, keeping track of inventory and ensuring freshness.

·        Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations. Assist with managing inventory of food and beverages throughout all properties.

·        Ability to adapt to new techniques, recipes, client preferences and requests.

 

Chef Assistant Requirements: 

·        Must have a basic understanding of various cuisines, ingredients, and cooking techniques. With a passion for learning new cooking techniques, candidates should also have basic butchery, baking and pasta making skills.

·        Capable to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.

·        Willingness to work flexible hours when needed, sometimes including weekends, nights and holidays.

·        Good verbal communication skills with the ability to follow instructions and relay information effectively.

·        Reliable personal transportation is required.
