Sommelier / Beverage Manager Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $75,000 – $80,000
  • Annual Bonus: Up to 10% based on key performance metrics

Sommelier / Beverage Manager Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the beverage program, including ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships
  • Lead a 10-person bar team, handling scheduling, training, and performance
  • Curate and update wine and cocktail menus (2–3 times annually)
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on food and beverage pairings
  • Maintain professional bar operations standards during service
  • Drive bar profitability through innovation, cost control, and guest engagement
  • Support service both on the floor and behind the bar as needed
  • Uphold professional appearance and hospitality standards

Sommelier / Beverage Manager Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of bar or beverage leadership in upscale, chef-driven restaurants
  • Level II Sommelier Certification or equivalent wine expertise required
  • Strong cocktail and spirits knowledge, including seasonal menu development
  • Proven team leadership and scheduling experience
  • Comfortable managing daily bar logistics, training, and product mix
  • Highly professional communication, guest service, and presentation skills

Preferred Background & Skills

  • Balanced background in wine, spirits, and cocktail program management
  • Experience managing beverage programs with both cost control and creativity
  • Prior success in rebuilding or refreshing bar teams and concepts
  • Hands-on operator who leads by example during service
  • Able to work autonomously and manage up when needed
