Join our innovative team as a CNC Process Engineer, where you’ll play a crucial role in shaping the future of our manufacturing processes! You'll be at the forefront of developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC operations to boost efficiency, uphold quality, and drive cost savings. Collaborate with a talented group of design engineers, machinists, and quality assurance professionals to achieve production goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do:
- Innovate CNC Processes: Design and implement cutting-edge CNC machining processes, including tooling, fixtures, and programming for multi-axis CNC machines.
- Program with Precision: Utilize CAD/CAM software to create and optimize CNC programs, ensuring they meet product specifications and adhere to quality standards.
- Streamline Workflows: Analyze manufacturing processes to uncover opportunities for improving productivity, reducing cycle times, and minimizing waste.
- Collaborative Design Support: Partner with design engineers to ensure new products are manufacturable, providing valuable Design for Manufacturability (DFM) insights during the design phase.
- Troubleshoot Effectively: Take the lead in diagnosing and resolving manufacturing issues, implementing solutions that prevent future occurrences.
- Select the Best Tools: Evaluate and recommend CNC equipment, tooling, and technologies that align with production needs.
- Document Processes: Create and uphold detailed process documentation, including work instructions, setup sheets, and standard operating procedures.
- Empower Your Team: Train and mentor machine operators and staff on CNC best practices and quality standards to elevate team performance.
- Embrace Continuous Improvement: Champion Lean Manufacturing principles and engage in initiatives like 5S, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to enhance our operations.
- Ensure Compliance: Uphold safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across all manufacturing processes.
What You Bring:
- Experience: At least 5 years in CNC machining and process engineering, with hands-on experience in CNC programming, setup, and operation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (like SolidWorks, Esprit, NX CAM) and simulation tools (such as Vericut), along with advanced skills in probe and macro programming.
- Machining Knowledge: Strong understanding of multi-axis CNC machining (3, 4, and 5-axis mills, and multi-axis mill-turn lathes) and GD&T (ASNI Y14.5).
- Measurement Expertise: Extensive knowledge of common metrology and measurement systems.
- Lean Manufacturing Acumen: Familiarity with Lean principles and a knack for process optimization.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical abilities to conduct root cause analyses and implement effective solutions.
- Team Player: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in PC-DMIS CMM programming and/or automation engineering.
- Background in firearms manufacturing is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (preferably Epicor) for production planning.
- Certifications like Six Sigma Green Belt, AS9100, or ISO 9001 experience are advantageous.

- CAM Software: Mastercam, Esprit, Surfcam, Siemens NX
