Assistant General Manager – Requirements & Qualifications (Must Haves)
• Leadership: Proven ability to recruit, train, mentor, and motivate restaurant staff
• Hospitality Experience: Background in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality setting
• Customer Service Skills: Ability to create a welcoming and professional guest experience
• Financial Acumen: Experience managing budgets, analyzing financial documents, and controlling labor costs
• Administrative Proficiency: Skilled in scheduling, payroll, and basic operational tasks
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Problem-Solving: Ability to work under pressure and resolve operational or staffing issues quickly
• Flexibility: Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Assistant General Manager – Key Responsibilities
• Team Leadership & Training: Hire, train, and mentor staff to improve skills, morale, and team performance
• Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations to ensure consistent product quality, exceptional service, and a clean, well-maintained environment
• Financial Oversight: Manage inventory, analyze financial documents, control labor costs, and prepare sales reports to support profitability
• Guest Satisfaction: Ensure excellent food quality, attentive service, and a positive guest atmosphere to drive repeat business
• Store Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and safety standards for both guests and staff, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations
• Administrative Tasks: Handle scheduling, payroll, bank deposits, and performance appraisals to keep operations organized and efficient
Assistant General Manager – Preferred Background & Skills (Nice to Haves)
• Multi-Unit or High-Volume Leadership: Experience managing larger or multi-unit restaurant operations
• Training Program Experience: Ability to implement service training programs to elevate guest satisfaction scores
• Sales & Profitability Growth: Track record of driving measurable increases in revenue and profitability
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to review financial and operational data and take actionable steps
• Team Development: Demonstrated ability to create succession plans and mentor future leaders
