Assistant General Manager – Benefits & Compensation

Assistant General Manager – Requirements & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of café or coffee shop management experience with a strong foundation in food and beverage operations
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional customer service mindset with a commitment to creating a warm guest experience
  • Strong organizational and financial abilities, including budgeting, cost control, and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills with adaptability to work with staff, guests, and vendors
  • Genuine passion for high-quality food, beverages, and customer service

Assistant General Manager – Must Haves

  • Lead daily operations and act as Manager on Duty in the GM’s absence
  • Ensure exceptional customer service, addressing guest concerns with professionalism
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and training while managing labor costs
  • Monitor sales, COGs, labor, and expenses, proactively identifying areas for improvement
  • Maintain food and beverage prep, menu development support, and retail display standards
  • Ensure health and safety compliance across front and back of house
  • Collaborate on marketing and promotions to drive customer engagement and sales

Assistant General Manager – Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience in specialty coffee or bakery/patisserie operations
  • Strong merchandising and retail display skills
  • Background in marketing or promotions within hospitality settings
  • Track record of successfully building high-performing, engaged teams
