We’re launching an exciting new restaurant in the heart of a harbor town in Door County, Wisconsin—and we’re looking for a skilled Sous Chef to join our opening team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping a fresh culinary concept in one of the Midwest’s most scenic and charming destinations.
About Us:
Our concept blends two dining experiences under one roof: a casual, lively bar on the main floor and a refined, design-forward dining space upstairs. The kitchen focuses on wood-fired techniques and a menu built around seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. It’s a collaborative environment with high standards and a strong sense of team.
What You’ll Do:
- Support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and service execution
- Help manage prep, station organization, and food quality
- Lead and train line cooks, ensuring consistency and teamwork
- Uphold kitchen cleanliness, safety, and efficiency standards
- Contribute to menu development and seasonal changes
- Jump in wherever needed to keep service smooth and guests happy
What We’re Looking For:
- 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or strong line cook ready to step up
- Solid understanding of seasonal, scratch cooking techniques
- Experience working in fast-paced, quality-driven kitchens
- Comfortable working with wood-fired equipment (or eager to learn)
- Positive leadership skills and strong kitchen presence
- Dependable, organized, and passionate about food and hospitality
