Litigation Attorney – Foreclosure
A high-volume, multi-jurisdictional legal services provider specializing in foreclosure, bankruptcy, and real estate litigation is seeking a Virginia-barred Litigation Attorney to join its Maryland office. Requirements & Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate and active Virginia/Maryland Bar license in good standing (required)
- 7–8 years of experience in foreclosure, default servicing, or creditors' rights litigation
- Admission to U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts (preferred but not required)
- Ability to manage and prioritize a large, high-volume caseload
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local compliance related to foreclosure
- Ability to commute to the Rockville, MD office 2–3 days per week
Must Haves:
- Experience drafting and reviewing pleadings for compliance with applicable laws
- Ability to interact with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members professionally and strategically
- Comfortable attending hearings, status conferences, and managing court appearances
- Proven ability to analyze complex legal issues and propose creative, risk-mitigating solutions for clients
- Driven and organized, with the ability to work independently within a team-driven environment
Preferred Background & Skills:
- Background in title review, mortgage banking litigation, or bankruptcy proceedings
- Experience working with mortgage lenders, banks, or financial institutions
- Familiarity with loan servicing regulations, REO, and eviction litigation
