Are you a visionary pastry chef with elite technique and a desire to own your pastry program from top to bottom? A dynamic, chef-driven café group in Chicago is seeking a professional and innovative Executive Pastry Chef to lead and elevate their pastry operations across multiple locations. This is a unique role for someone who wants creative freedom, growth potential, and the ability to directly influence their earning power.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Create and execute seasonal pastries, desserts, and baked goods
  • Lead bi-monthly R&D sessions to keep offerings fresh and exciting
  • Manage inventory and ordering, ensuring quality and cost efficiency
  • Drive production schedules and consistency across all units
  • Support catering expansion and custom pastry experiences
  • Uphold exceptional standards of cleanliness and kitchen leadership
  • Be the steady, creative force that keeps the pastry vision on track

You Might Be the Right Fit If:

  • You’ve led pastry programs for at least 5 years, preferably in upscale or chef-driven concepts
  • You’ve worked under Michelin-starred chefs or in fine dining environments
  • You’re collaborative, feedback-friendly, and calm under pressure
  • You lead by example and can run your kitchen with efficiency and grace
  • You want to grow with a company that is expanding and open to new ideas

Compensation Package:

  • Competitive base salary plus 5% commission on all pastry sales
  • Additional commission opportunities tied to catering sales
  • Relocation support for exceptional out-of-market candidates
  • Equity conversations possible for senior-level hires (not discussed externally)
