A growing municipality in the South Atlanta area is hiring a Water & Sewer Construction Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations across waterline, sewer line, and meter service crews. Oversee crews, lead infrastructure upgrades, and grow with a municipality that values strong field leadership. This is a field-focused, hands-on leadership role where you’ll be responsible for crew supervision, scheduling, compliance, capital project support, and infrastructure maintenance. You’ll also serve as a key liaison between field crews, contractors, engineers, and city leadership. We’re looking for someone who can lead from the front, take ownership of operations, and help modernize aging infrastructure as part of a multi-phase improvement plan.
Water & Sewer Construction Superintendent Responsibilities
Supervise and support multiple utility crews (water, sewer, meters)
Assign work, inspect job sites, and ensure completion standards are met
Manage preventative maintenance and repair programs
Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations (EPD, EPA, OSHA, etc.)
Work closely with contractors, engineers, and internal departments
Respond to emergency calls and infrastructure issues (on-call 7 days/week)
Water & Sewer Construction Superintendent Qualifications
Minimum Associate’s Degree in Construction, Environmental Science, or related field
GA Water Distribution or Treatment Certification (REQUIRED)
GA Wastewater Collection Certification (REQUIRED)
5+ years of experience in water/sewer maintenance, with 2+ years in a supervisory role
Valid Georgia driver’s license
Comfortable leading teams, solving problems in the field, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders
