A busy metal recycling facility is seeking a dependable, safety-minded Shredder Supervisor to help lead daily operations and keep things running smoothly and efficiently. This is a hands-on leadership position overseeing daily shredder activity—making sure things run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You’ll work closely with the General Manager to hit production goals, manage a team, and keep equipment in top shape.
Responsibilities for Shredder Supervisor
- Coordinate daily shredder operations and maintenance with the team
- Schedule production and repairs to minimize downtime
- Train and lead shredder crew across multiple shifts
- Handle reporting and help set budgets and capital planning
- Perform daily equipment inspections and manage parts inventory
- Step in to support the GM with audits, training, and day-to-day operations
Requirements for Shredder Supervisor
- High school diploma or GED (a degree in a related field is a plus)
- 3–5 years of shredder experience, preferably in scrap or metals recycling
- 2+ years in a supervisory role
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems (PLCs, motors, etc.)
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
- Solid communication and leadership skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
