We invite a passionate and highly skilled Head Sushi Chef to shape the culinary vision of our new, intimate Japanese restaurant specializing in the art of omakase. This is a rare opportunity to create a truly exceptional and personalized dining experience from the ground up, showcasing your expertise in the heart of our open kitchen.
Head Sushi Chef Requirements & Qualifications:
- 7+ years of professional culinary experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine)
- Unwavering mastery of traditional Japanese techniques, including sushi, sashimi, kaiseki, fermentation, and dashi preparation
- Exceptional knife skills, discerning ingredient sourcing instincts, and meticulous attention to detail at a fine degree
- Dedication to creating and maintaining strong with purveyors such as those that are local and all across Japan
- You can talk or speak, in English or Japanese, to tell a story
- If the person has Michelin/ high acclaim experiences, that is what we need here. And all, while leading a small team.
- A heart for the vision is a need!
- U.S. work authorization.
