Regulatory Affairs Manager – Chemical Manufacturing (Lansing, IL or Cleveland, OH)

Strong preference for Lansing, IL location

Are you a successful, experienced Manager of Regulatory Affairs or Environmental, Health, and Safety Regulatory Compliance Manager with a background in chemical manufacturing who loves overseeing compliance efforts? We have three facilities—Lansing, IL (HQ), Cleveland, OH, and Chattanooga, TN and this position plays a vital role in standardizing regulatory processes, supporting ongoing facility integration, and ensuring adherence to local, federal, and international regulations related to chemical safety and transportation.

This is a high-impact role requiring technical depth, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution. You’ll be the go-to subject matter expert on SDS authoring, hazardous materials compliance, and chemical regulatory affairs.

Manager, Environmental, Health, and Safety Regulatory Compliance – Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base salary: $130K–$150K+ depending on experience

 Manager, Environmental, Health, and Safety Regulatory Compliance – Qualifications

  • 7+ years in regulatory affairs, product stewardship, or EHS in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Deep familiarity with regulatory frameworks: GHS, TSCA, CEPA, DSL, FIFRA, RCRA, etc.
  • Proficient with SDS authoring platforms and ERP systems (preferably SAP).
  • Proven ability to standardize processes across multiple sites.
  • Change agent mindset—especially valuable given our evolving integration across facilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, EHS, or related field.
  • Experience with ISO standards, 5S, and continuous improvement is a plus.

Manager, Environmental, Health, and Safety Regulatory Compliance – Responsibilities

  • Own regulatory systems for SDS authoring, GHS labeling, IMDS submissions, and chemical classifications under DOT, IATA, TDG, and IMDG.
  • Lead compliance with EPA TSCA, Canada NSN, FDA (food contact), and FIFRA regulations.
  • Monitor and interpret emerging legislation and regulatory changes; serve as internal advisor and risk manager.
  • Oversee Chemtrec emergency response services and ensure proper onboarding related to regulatory policy.
  • Support SAP-related compliance entries during part and material setup.
  • Deliver training on RCRA and chemical management practices to facility personnel.
  • Collaborate closely with EHS teams on ISO certifications, audit readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
