Assistant Director of Capital Project Integration

In this high-visibility leadership role, you’ll be the bridge between capital project completion and long-term operational success—driving the turnover of new construction and renovation projects into facilities operations. You'll implement standardized turnover protocols, ensure operational readiness, and lead cross-functional collaboration between project managers, trades, and operations teams.

What You’ll Do:

• Serve as the operational lead for capital project turnover from project management to facilities operations.
• Develop and implement standardized turnover processes, including documentation, checklists, and training protocols.
• Ensure operational readiness of assets and building systems for post-project performance and sustainability.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure smooth project transitions that align with long-term campus operations.
• Integrate new assets and systems into existing planned and preventive maintenance platforms.
• Define expectations and share best practices for turnover procedures across departments and teams.
• Facilitate effective training, commissioning, and documentation handoffs for operational continuity.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, facilities management, or a related field.
• 10+ years of facilities or capital project experience in a complex campus or institutional environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proven leadership in project handover, commissioning, or operations.

Preferred:

• Background in trades, building operations, or sustainability-focused construction.
• Certifications related to high-performance buildings or energy efficiency.
• Experience with commissioning, preventive maintenance systems, and campus environments—especially in higher education.
