As a global leader in airport environmental services, we specialize in the management and processing of glycol effluent from aircraft deicing operations. The Operations Manager oversees the safe and efficient use of facility equipment and personnel, ensuring operational effectiveness. This role is also responsible for upholding Inland’s standards of superior service and customer satisfaction, while ensuring full compliance with company policies and all relevant government regulations.
Operations Manager Job Duties:
- Ensure that all production goals are consistently met or exceeded, and that all processing equipment operates at optimal performance levels.
- Implement and maintain an effective preventative maintenance program. Oversee the maintenance of ADF processor units, distillation plants, membrane equipment, distribution systems, UF/RO systems, demineralization (polishing) units, and other facility equipment in accordance with Inland’s maintenance manuals. Perform or coordinate maintenance activities as directed by management, utilizing in-house mechanics and/or subcontractors.
- Provide supervisors, leads, and operators with up-to-date operational training aligned with Inland’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational manuals. Conduct annual recurrent training, spot training, and health & safety sessions to ensure team competence and compliance.
- Ensure all required sampling and quality control testing is completed accurately and in accordance with SOPs. Maintain strict adherence to correct sampling protocols to uphold quality assurance standards across all operational systems.
- Promote collaboration and clear communication among all staff involved in operational duties. Facilitate shift-to-shift information transfer through verbal updates and the use of a pass-down logbook to report current machine conditions.
Operations Manager Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to pass all required background checks and clearance requirements
- Successful completion of the airport badging process and pre-employment drug screening is mandatory
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Minimum of 2 years in a Base Lead or similar supervisory role preferred
- Strong leadership and management capabilities
- Demonstrated experience in cost control, budgeting, and delivering projects on time
- Proven ability to develop and manage budgets, create spreadsheets, and write clear, accurate reports
- Must be flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong computer proficiency
- Must be able to speak and hear clearly and efficiently
- Knowledge of unit conversions (kilos to pounds), tariff book usage, and rate application
- Prior experience in distillation, chemical processing, or airport operations is considered an asset

Operations Manager Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Office: Extended periods of sitting with continuous use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
- Warehouse: Physically demanding work requiring prolonged standing; exposure to noise, varying temperatures, humidity, and occasional unpleasant odors; work occurs around heavy moving equipment.
- Outdoor: Exposure to weather conditions, dust, dirt, fuel, fumes, and noise; work may involve standing for long periods near heavy equipment and moving vehicles.
- Airport Operations: Potential exposure to operational hazards such as noise, vehicles, and equipment, all mitigated through rigorous training, PPE, and established safety procedures.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Requires manual dexterity for handling tools and controls; must have adequate reach, speech, and hearing capabilities.
