Senior Manager, Tax (Partner-Track) – Public Accounting | $120K–$150K + Future Profit Share

Location: Greater Birmingham, AL (In-office preferred)

Are you a seasoned CPA looking to step into firm leadership and eventually take over a partner’s book of business? We’re recruiting on behalf of a long-established, growth-minded public accounting firm that recently joined forces with a local Birmingham based private equity firm, but with a refreshing twist.

This isn’t the typical high-pressure PE story. The firm is building something intentional and sustainable, prioritizing people over pure profit with a long-term vision of shared success!

What You’ll Do:

• Serve as the final reviewer and lead tax strategist on client engagements
• Mentor and develop junior staff while optimizing internal workflow
• Partner with two senior CPAs focused on client growth and strategic value
• Work directly with the firm’s Managing Director to modernize systems and create operational excellence
• Step into a leadership role with a clear succession path to partner, taking over a retiring book of business and expanding your own

What You Bring:

• Active CPA license (required)
• 8–10+ years of recent public accounting experience, primarily in tax
• Experience managing tax staff, reviewing complex returns, and supporting clients year-round
• A leadership mindset and a desire to step into a strategic, people-oriented role
• Familiarity with ProConnect and/or TaxDome is helpful but not required

💰 Compensation & Benefits:

• $120,000 – $150,000 base salary (initial draw model—no repayment required)
• Long-term opportunity for equity and leadership
• Innovative partner model: 70% of net profit from self-generated business
• Healthcare stipend ($650/month per person), flexible PTO
