A well-known favorite restaurant group is hiring a Pastry Chef for its upscale concept in the Dallas, TX market. You must thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and uphold the stellar service standards of the restaurant's brand and reputation.  This person will report to the Executive Chef. Pastry Chef Responsibilities:

  • Lead the daily operations of the staff ensuring quality control measures are being adhered to
  • Collaborate with and follow through with thee Executive Chef
  • Strong kitchen and leadership skills with a proven ability to coach and develop staff
  • Plan, prep, set up, and prepare quality products in all areas of pastry, costing, scheduling, inventory, hiring, training, and R&D 
  • Develop workable solutions to solve department and guest-related problems
  • Accept the need for flexibility and respond to evolving circumstances
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a deadline-driven, demanding environment

Pastry Chef Qualifications

  • Proven experience working as a pastry chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in a similar function
  • Expert skill set in international cuisine and technique
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • Confident culinary techniques and skills with the drive for excellence under pressure
  • Good sense of planning and preparation
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
