Assistant Director of Project Management Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, facilities management, or a similar field
  • 10+ years of experience with facilities management
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Trades or operations background
    • Experience and certifications in sustainability or high-performance buildings
    • Experience in a complex campus environment, ideally higher education
    • Experience in commissioning and project management
    • Experience with planned and preventive maintenance programs and systems

Assistant Director of Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the operational lead for capital project turnover from the project management team to operations
  • Develop and implement standardized turnover processes, including checklists, documentation requirements, and training protocols
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure project deliverables align with long-term operational success
  • Ensure the quality and completeness of all turnover materials, including asset documentation and operational readiness
  • Lead cross-functional coordination to ensure a smooth and collaborative transition to operations
  • Oversee integration of new assets into the work order system for planned and preventive maintenance activities
  • Define and communicate expectations and best practices for turnover procedures across departments
  • Facilitate operational training and documentation handoffs to ensure seamless post-project support
