We are looking for a precise and well-organized Project Manager/Estimator to join our expanding excavation company. This position will involve estimating, project oversight, scheduling, and fostering client relationships. The ideal candidate will bring experience in excavation, earthwork, or civil construction, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects from start to finish.

Project Manager/Estimator Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for excavation and site development projects.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop detailed estimates.
  • Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Identify potential risks and implement strategies for effective cost control.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and providing project updates.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Attend pre-construction meetings and site visits as needed.
  • Lead excavation projects from pre-construction planning through to final completion.
  • Oversee project timelines to ensure delivery is on schedule and within budget.
  • Collaborate with field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage and maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, submittals, and RFIs.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive project reports to management, outlining progress, costs, and potential risks.
  • Conduct post-project assessments to enhance future estimating and project management practices.

Project Manager/Estimator Job Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in project management and estimating within excavation, earthwork, or civil construction.
  • Expertise in interpreting blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment specific to excavation projects.
  • Proficient in using estimating software and project management tools, including B2W, Winex Grade, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
