We’re seeking a skilled and driven Sous Chef to join the culinary team at one of Montauk’s premier dining destinations. This is a seasonal position running through Columbus Day, offering the chance to work in a fast-paced, upscale, oceanfront environment with a team that values excellence, creativity, and professionalism.

About the Role:

As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to lead daily kitchen operations, manage a high-performing team, and deliver consistently exceptional food during our busiest season. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate culinarian looking to make an impact and earn a $10,000 end-of-season bonus.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee prep, line, and service execution for high-volume service
  • Maintain quality and consistency across all dishes
  • Supervise and train back-of-house staff to ensure proper technique and efficiency
  • Enforce all health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and food cost controls
  • Support in menu planning and seasonal specials
  • Foster a positive and collaborative kitchen culture

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Sous Chef experience in a high-volume, upscale kitchen
  • Proven ability to lead and develop kitchen teams under pressure
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience with seasonal menus and local sourcing a plus
  • Must be available full-time through Columbus Day
  • Passionate, reliable, and team-oriented
