The Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for assisting clients in obtaining mortgage loans that best suit their financial situations. This role involves originating residential loans, building relationships with potential borrowers, and guiding clients through the loan process from application to closing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Originate mortgage loans by meeting with prospective borrowers to assess their financing needs.
- Evaluate and analyze applicants’ financial information to determine loan eligibility.
- Educate clients on different loan options, interest rates, and terms.
- Assist clients through the application process, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lending products, regulations, and guidelines.
- Build and maintain relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other referral partners.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations, as well as company policies.
- Manage a pipeline of active loan applications and provide regular updates to clients.
- Meet or exceed sales goals and performance metrics set by management.
Qualifications:
- NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System) registration required.
- 2+ years of experience in mortgage lending, banking, or financial services preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage loan products (FHA, VA, Conventional, Jumbo).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to analyze financial documents and calculate loan qualification.
- Proficiency with loan origination software and CRM tools.
- Strong sales and networking abilities.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset.
